Submit your alignment to Phylo
Phylo is freely available to academic users who are willing to use our citizen science framework to improve their multiple sequence alignment data. You will only need to prepare your data in an appropriate format and send them to us at phylo-submit@cs.mcgill.ca. We will proceed your data and create puzzles out of it. Once the alignment will be ready the results will be send back to you. Of course, we will keep the integrity of your data private.
The time necessary to proceed the data may vary. We will keep you updated of the processing time on this webpage. If you have particular time or quality requirements, we will do our best to accomodate your needs. Please, do not hesitate to communicate with us at phylo-submit@cs.mcgill.ca if you have any request or question about the submission process.
Step 1: Prepare your data using the MAF format. Your sequences must have been pre-aligned using your favorite sequence alignment software. Please, do not forget to compress your files. If your data are too big to be sent by e-mail, please contact us at phylo-submit@cs.mcgill.ca to arrange the transfer.
Step 2: Please, verify that your data can be shared and made public. We reject any responsability in sharing, even partially, your sequences with Phylo users. Thank you for stating in the body of your email: “ The sender of this email have declared that the data embedded in this email can be shared with users of Phylo at http://phylo.cs.mcgill.ca, and that no competing interest exists.”
Indicate your name, institution and how you prefer to be reached. Please, tell us if some diseases are associated with your sequences. This will be useful to classify our data and motivate Phylo gamers!
Step 4: Send us your files and other requested information at phylo-submit@cs.mcgill.ca
